Pull up a stool at the Handguns hub—this is where I unload the straight dope on pistols that pack real heat for carry and competition. From battle-tested Staccato beasts surviving 5,000-round beatdowns to the no-frills reliability of a Glock G43 tucked IWB, plus CZ shadows that blend race-gun speed with everyday concealment, I’ve run ’em hot, torn ’em down, and timed ’em against drills like the Wizard. Holsters that don’t quit, optics that hold zero through hell, and draw hacks to shave seconds off your split? It’s all here.
Ronnie Jones, a late local legend, built this unique STI Legend pistol. Karl Rehn claimed Grand Master glory with it; now, its thrill is mine. Read the tale of this treasure!
Two years after my 2023 take on the CZ Czechmate, this 500-round update revisits the affordable Open division contender. Upgraded with brass grips & mag well from LokGrips, plus MBX mags, this quirky, high-performing icon still shines.

The Dan Wesson Pointman 45 reached the 1000 round milestone. Despite a couple of small inconvenient issues, it’s proving to be a winning choice for competition.
I’ve been upgrading the Dan Wesson PM-45 for upcoming competitions. After some tweaks, a front sight mishap, and 500 rounds, it’s ready to rock for the USPSA championship!
How anyone can get genuinely upset when learning somebody isn’t on the same pistol cartridge team is beyond me. Until another ballistically viable cartridge that is more cost effective and recoils less than 9mm hits the market, there should be…
I took Gabe White’s class a third time. While I didn’t get the turbo pin I was after, I did internalize a few more things that didn’t stick as well before. Plus another light pin is pretty cool too.
After 2000 rounds, the Staccato C2 is solid with zero issues. Considering swapping optics and grip, but it’s still a great EDC choice for serious users.
Just wrapped up the Advanced Handgun course at KR Training again. It was fun, and I saw noticeable improvements in my skills. Definitely a must-attend!
