Shot two more IDPA matches this month. Both matches took place at the Austin Rifle Club and were hosted by Texas Tactical. It was uneventful in terms of how the Sig Sauer P229 ran, which is good given the malfunctions I most likely induced last month.
First match in May and my fifth overall was not what I was hoping for. It was a smaller turnout and I came in dead last place in the standard service pistol (SSP) division. Overall it wasn’t my worst performance in terms of overall time which was 218.42. […]
This little Sig fan boy is now officially one of the cool kids who own and shoot 10mm pistols. Just kidding. Wait, no I’m not. Seriously though, the Sig Sauer P220 Legion in 10mm is pretty nice and 10mm is a blast (pun intended).
There is no perfect everyday carry configuration for every situation. It’s very likely that more than a one configuration will be needed to cover different forms of attire. It will also most likely evolve over time as preferences and proficiency changes.
So far so good. 300 rounds and counting, no malfunctions, heavy striker drag on spent primers, and a splash of slide bite.
