Minimizing Exposure

I'm opting to avoid non-essential outings for a little while. It's not fun and may not be necessary, but I think limiting my exposure to individuals currently experiencing varying degrees of panic is a good choice right now.

I was bummed this morning to opt to not go one of the monthly IDPA matches I regularly attend, but I feel like it’s the right thing to do. I’m not trying to incite or spread the panic about the COVID-19 virus. I’m just trying to minimize my and my families exposure to risk.

With the limited availability of cleaning supplies, hygiene products, perishable goods, bottled water and ammo, I’m going into conservation mode and avoiding going out unless it is a necessity or an existing commitment. Avoiding crowds and groups of people will minimize my exposure to potential violence or sickness. Remember that awareness, avoidance, and prevention are part of a good self defense strategy.

I hope that all of you and your families are safe. I also hope the panic buying and pandemic reaction blow over quickly and things return to normal soon. Either way, I urge you to stay safe and stay vigilant.
